*2024 stock* The source material of the compositions are historical recordings made on wax cylinders (German: "Walze") from the archive of the Ethnological Museum in Berlin. The recordings were all made at the beginning of the last century in different parts of the world. For each of my eight pieces I processed the sounds and noises of one wax cylinder using a computer, sometimes modulating them with sine waves (Walzen 3, 4 and8), combining them to new compositions.

The PAF is housed in a former convent school, which was built at the end of the 19th Century in the village of St. Erme in Picardy. After the convent school and a hospital during World War I, various temporary uses and a long term of vacancy, the PAF was founded in 2006 as a workplace for artists.

Hamburg sound artist Gregory Büttner often surfaces on his own 1000Fussler label, but here he is on Gruenrekorder, the home of artistic field recording releases. Voll. Halb. Langsam. Halt. Rhodri Davies and Gregory Büttner met in Hamburg and decided to work together. Davies sent Büttner three short solo harp improvisations to work with. Out of those sourcings Büttner generated a most alive, bizarre and challenging form of concrete-abstract electronic music.
