In Camera

In Camera is composed of Christoph Heemann and Timo van Luijk , both experienced and quite active in the contemporary experimental music world. In Camera was formed in 2003 out of a twenty year dialogue between the duo who have recorded two albums together. On these dates, Heemann plays the Moog and manipulates prerecorded sounds live to generate lush electronic drone-scapes while van Luijk symbiotically adds to the visual sound layers with his electronic and acoustic instruments, both of them balancing between the frontier of improvisation and composition, among drones, electronics and electroacoustics, the overall effect being of an intense beauty.

Nivritti Marga
Dutch visual and sound artist Raymond Dijkstra has honed a direction with his work that is as complex as it is singular – following patterns both sonically and visually which create a sense of isolation as well as a powerful vision. And this one is not an exception, again with the help of Timo van Luijk (of Elodie, Af Usrin fame) and Frédérique Bruyas on vocals. "Part from these reservations placed upon the kind of relationship more or less intimate that I should maintain with you, my mouth is r…
From the Host of Late-Comers
"From the Host of Late-Comers represents the latest challenge manifested by Plastic Palace People, the duo of Jim O'Rourke and Christoph Heemann, who have been collaborating continuously (even though in a largely unnoticed fashion) since 1989. Previous Streamline releases from Mimir contain some of their earlier work; Plastic Palace People first saw release in 2011. After two releases in quick succession, it has been a long wait for more, and finally here is a recent piece of work from the…
Macchia Forest
An organic audio forest of analogue electronics, electro-acoustic sounds, sound-sculpture instruments plus singing and piano, even (outrageous!). "The guy from HNAS with the wonderful lady from Anima, plus one of Christoph Heeman's buddies from the project In Camera. Homemade marimba, voice, violin, hand drums, trumpet, autoharp, & electronics slip around each other quietly. Heeman knows how to be ominous, and Fuchs knows how to be squirrely, so they complement each other really well." Weirdorec…
Locrian & Christoph Heemann
Locrian and Christoph Heemann, two of the most powerful forces in sound manipulation and experimental everything, (not in the pretentious sense, but in the honest to goodness there-will-be-textbooks-written-about-this pioneering of music), come together in what is one of the most landmark collections of musical composition ever put on record. A record created at a foreboding time, a time of record heat waves, severe storms, and flash droughts that have turned farms to dust in a matter of seasons…
Lebenserinnerungen Eines Lepidopterologen
Unavailable for over 10 years, this new edition of 'Lebenserinnerungen Eines Lepidopterologen' ('Memoirs of a Lepidopterist') collects the collaborative and early solo works of Andreas Martin and Christoph Heemann as an extensive 2CD retrospective. Plastic Palace People Vol. 2
The departure from Volume 1 starts here! Found sounds, field recordings and and more, echoing to you from way back in 1992. Straight out of Achen! Second in this on-going series of collaborative works recorded in the early 90’s by christoph heemann & jim o’rourke, later conceptually aligned with the mythos of noel scott “walker” engel ... contrasting vol. 1’s “synth freakout” bluster entirely, this is instead a single, extended musique concrète piece (heavily reminiscent of luc ferrari’s later…
Plastic Palace People Vol. 1
Jim O'Rourke and Christoph Heeman have been collaborating since 1991; that's before MP3s, before witch house, and before the release of Arachnophobia. Hell, that's back when also-ran comedian Michael Keaton was still Batman. The two musicians have now seen sense to offer up a collection of rare, unreleased recordings from their probably massive archives and this Scott Walker-referencing disc is the result. Those familiar with Heeman's work, or O'Rourke's more experimental side will no doubt be u…

Bloomington, Indiana... Autumn
Recently reworked and remastered, this LP was recorded in the 1990s, uniting Lee Ranaldo and Jim O'Rourke (before the Sonic Youth years spent together, of course) with German tape music specialist (and H.N.A.S. member) Christoph Heemann. 'Bloomington, Indiana' is based upon a Lee Ranaldo spoken-word reading, and was originally recorded in the Netherlands during 1994. It features O'Rourke and Heemann manipulating Ranaldo's reading via magnetic tape, creating a morphing new soundscape from the SY …
Voile Au Vent
Edition of 400 copies LP from this duo featuring Timo Van Luijk of Af Ursin and collaborator with Christoph Heemann, NNCK et al. Voile Au Vent presents a series of piano improvisations embedded in dark, symphonic instrumental settings. Some of the most purely malevolent sounds to be associated with Luijk, aspects of Voile Au Vent almost sound like Coil circa “Dark River” with looming electronics providing an eerie backdrop to the broken bones of a piano. Later tracks bring in cut-up sound source…
Saiten In Flammen
Saiten In Flammen, a new album by Charlemagne Palestine and Christoph Heemann follows their collaborative work on Palestine's heavy-metal-piano workout The Apocalypse Will Blossom with a more textural approach. As on The Apocalypse... the only sound source used throughout these two electro-acoustic explorations of the lower depths is the Bösendorfer Imperial Grand Piano, notorious for its unique resonant qualities. The title is a German translation of 'strings aflame.' ...looking directly at the…
High Noon

An edition of 400 copies.
Costa del Luna
Second album. Lunar psychedelic improvisations. Features Timo van Luijk (zither, flute, keys, tape) and Kirs Vanderstraeten (percussion). "Two more side long pieces from these two. The first side is a scuttling crab moving in and out of focus. It's great, but the second side is utterly fantastic. A lot of percussion and drones, as well as flute sounds, etc, with a touch of faux Orientalism. Enough that bits of the music could be seen as an alternative soundtrack to Apocalypse Now!. (And I mean t…

RESTOCK! Limited to 500 copies with a numbered postcard insert, this a beautiful LP by the C. Heeman duo project with Af Ursin's Timo Van Luyck was started in 2004 and has produced two albums so far, the self titled first album (Some fine legacy) and Open Air (Robot), presenting yet another facet of Heemann's ideas of textural electroacustica, this time with a focus on improvisation.
