Quartet Records is proud to present Sounds of Cinecittà, a collection of 6 CDs comprising nine obscure but oft-requested Italian scores from the Silver Age period of the ’60s and ’70s—undoubtedly the most fertile years of a unique cinematographic style that was admired and loved around the world.
Another dream come true! The first 7" ever to contain the three grooviest and most danceable tracks from the legendary soundtrack to La ragazza con la pistola, Mario Monicelli's 1968 cult film depicting the mod subculture of 60s Swinging London and starring Monica Vitti in one of her most iconic roles. (In the mid-90s two of the tracks were compiled in the seminal compilation Easy Tempo Vol. 2.)

Another amazing 7-inch! Two heavy psychedelic groover tracks, full of crazy percussion, fuzz guitar, and hammond organ all played by I Marc 4 and composed by their organist Antonello Vannucchi, and both echoing the immortal In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida riff by Iron Butterfly. Rito a Los Angeles was used by Steven Soderbergh in his 2004 film, Ocean’s Twelve. An amazing and haunting groove that is ideal for DJs & producers.

The film was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film in 1969. This is the first vinyl reissue of the complete soundtrack. Trombonist and arranger Giuseppe De Luca, who died shortly after, wrote this magnificent score in 1971, ripping off the main theme from "Lady In Cement" by Hugo Montenegro from the same year. The high music in here is played by the Marc 4 (Maurizio Majorana…
