World As Will
*2022 stock. 100 copies limited edition* "I found an old CD-R seemingly containing the first live recording that i had made with Zbigniew in Japan. Somehow i tried to mix it. So i copied the data, but what i got through Pro Tools was something different. What happened! I was always using familiar file names (World as Will.aiff) for everything. So the file that opened was another recording of same duration of 30 minutes and 26 seconds. It seems as if Zbigniew were here and said You take the wrong…

The Last Man in Europe
Reality had the honour of working with pioneering electronic composer Zbigniew Karkowski on two occasions. In 2007, as part of the Recording Angel Ensemble’s accompaniment to Wojciech Has’ film “The Saragossa Manuscript” at the National Film Theatre and finally, for the last time on the 31st October 2013 when, already gravely ill after learning that he had advanced pancreatic cancer, Karkowski premiered his music to the BBC 1954 teleplay production of George Orwell’s “1984 - The Last Man in Euro…
Aware Not Aware Radio Enemy
This split LP is one of several collaborative projects between Zbigniew Karkowski and Lars Åkerlund, which took place during the years 2012–2013. The collaboration between Karkowski and Åkerlund goes back to the 1980s, with projects like P.I.T.T. and the Dreamers and Onge-4-X. They continued during the 90s with an opera setting of Dostoyevsky´s The Idiot and a trio with Dror Feiler, among other things. Collaborations during recent years include the CD Horology, which Karkowski and Åkerlun…
A Bird In The Hand Is Worth Two In The Bush
This record should be seen not so much as a tribute to Zbigniew Karkowski than as an ongoing concern to further his work and thinking as they were when he was alive, reacting, and questioning, uncompromisingly. Nevertheless, these are his final recordings, which he made- a homecoming of sorts - in Sweden, at EMS Studios in Stockholm, with his friends Jean-Louis Huhta and Lars Akerlund. Late november 2013. a reminiscence from the 1980s, the creation of the label Radium 226.05 by Carl Mich…
World As Will Live In Sao Paulo
Recorded by Tetsuo Furudate with collaborations by Saichi (guitar), Leif Elggren (reading) and Marja-Leena Sillanpaa (electric sound). Electronic and acoustic elements are carefully combined together to make this album both an abstract and dreamy experiment and a very noisy sonic assault!

This is #12 in Sub Rosa's limited edition Framework series -- an extension of their Concrete Electronics Noise series. Antimatter is the sound work of Xopher Davidson -- an ongoing exploration into the material of sound. Xopher builds his experiments in electronic sound from a basis in painting, photography, and film, and through an interest in electronic circuits going back to building radios and homemade circuits as a kid. Over the last 11 years he has built and explored the sound world of…
Nerve Cell_0 (For Cello and Computer)
"This work is not music in a conventional sense, it does inhabit that world, but in a new way. The cello is treated fundamentally, as a resonating body, transmitting sounds elementally. The bow on a string, the flux of weight, pressure, speed and angularity releases a myriad of complex sound phenomena. The juxtaposition of multiple sounds on adjacent strings creates fluctuating and rhythmical beatings. The detuning of the instrument increases its pitch potential and basso profundity. In combinat…
One and many
"These life conditions lead to a radical conclusion: the traditional definitions of music are irrelevant and music theories and music as a cultural concept must be destroyed. That is what we find in his latest works, in which his main concern is to produce pieces out of electronic sounds and acoustic walls on scores developed from the architecture of ruins. His last opus called One and many is the exact development of years of theories and practices. As many of Karkowski's pieces, this is a high…
World as will II
Legendary composers Zbigniew Karkowski and Tetsuo Furudate complete their second installment of World As Will. This powerful collaboration results in a furiously intense music with Wagner-esque orchestrations and instrumentation with vigorous electronic manipulations, voice and mastery. A truly epic piece of work.
