*Fully remastered and licensed* One of the most sought-after italo-disco release, the combined effort of Giovanotti Mondani Meccanici and Alexander Robotnick saw the light of the day in 1986 on Fuzz Dance, Materiali Sonori sub-label ran by the wizard Giampiero Bigazzi. His classic "Problemes D'amour" was featured on the influent…
Through her novel approaches to texture and melody, German-American composer Johanna Magdalena Beyer (1888–1944) became one of the most distinctive modernist voices of the mid-20th century. Beyer was the first woman known to have composed for electric instruments (Music of the Spheres, 1938). Her compositions anticipate elements of minimalism, a movement that would manifest two decades after her passing. Beyer was long omitted from the written history of ultramodernism, but her activities as a c…

Edition of 300 copies. “One of the best shows I went to in San Francisco during 1984 was the Glorious Din & Trial gig. This show really changed my life & made realize that I had to follow my dreams. Both of these bands were local bands, but they had created this killer post-punk sound that could hold its own with any band from anywhere. Around this time, Glorious Din released their classic album Leading Stolen Horses. This album is a post-punk gem that many people have never heard – trust me, af…
Far View is a compilation of tracks from Joel Vandroogenbroeck’s series of library music releases for the Coloursound label — a uniquely trippy catalog of music vignettes long overdue for their day in the library music sun, remastered from the original analog reels! The late Joel Vandroogenbroeck was among that rare breed of musician who defy all categorisation, using music conventions to explore the far reaches of human and cosmic consciousness. After passing through the jazz and rock worlds f…
The George Russell Sextet caught in a rare live recording from a concert held at Music Inn, in Lenox Massachusetts on September 1, 1960. George Russell's kaleidoscopic sound conception takes shape through the collective interplay of a brilliant tight band featuring George Russell himself on piano, Al Kiger (trumpet), Dave Baker (trombone), Dave Young (tenor sax), Chuck Israels (bass), and Joe Hunt (drums). A great example of challenging modern and yet swinging jazz, including highlights such as …
** Limited edition of 500 copies, orange vinyl ** Mannequin Records is elated to present for the first time on vinyl the reissue of Giovanotti Mondani Meccanici’s first video soundtrack, originally released in 1984 as an audiotape in less than one hundred copies. Alexander Robotnick, a pivotal member of GMM, w…
The third part in Arv & Miljö's seasonal ambient tetralogy, following up Himmelsvind (Discreet Music, 2020) and Svensk Sommar I Stilla Frid (Omlott Records, 2018). The 11 segments on Ensam Är Nattens Rymd are inspired just as much by the memories of long and cold childhood winters that never seemed to end as it is by walking home on slushy Gothenburg streets in the middle of December.
Based more on rudimentary back-to-basics analouge 4-track tactics, the lush and shimmering ambience from Himmels…
In what seems like some sort of cosmic alignment bound to happen, the ever prolific and somewhat elusive Niagara make their way into the Discrepant catalogue with '1807'. Compiling tracks recorded between 2014 and 2018 that appeared scattered among very limited and long out of print self released CDRs, the record feels as much out of time as deeply resonant with these times with no dancefloors.
Stripping away most of the beat based approach of early Príncipe releases and Ascender EPs, these 17 v…
Earlier this decade, when Óscar Silva chose his alias Jibóia, he was already thinking of the variations his music would take on in each record. Jibóia is Portuguese for boa constrictor and by his fourth record his instincts and ability to change over his sound and search for different collaborators to reach his intentions was manifest. After collaborating with the likes of Makoto Yagyu, Sequin, Xinobi, Ricardo Martins, and Jonathan Saldanha on his previous records, in OOOO he goes deep into i…

Earlier this century Spencer Clark created a sound phantasy with Skaters and after that he pursued a new alchemy under various aliases (Charles Berlitz, Fourth World Magazine, Monopoly Child, Typhonian Highlife, etc.) and projects (like Egyptian Sports Network, Tarzana or The Temple Defectors). He’s back with a new album under a new name, Star Searchers, a futuristic eco-friendly record. It’s life on earth as you never heard it.

Fortuna Records return with an exceptional reissue of a mid-80s early electronica LP by keyboardist Raviv Gazit. The album was composed entirely on the Synclavier synthesizer in the basement of the Tel-Aviv University in 1985. Gazit was ahead of his time composing cold yet blissful electronic music for film and theatre which he later released as an album. An unexpected yet extremely welcome addition to Fortuna's killer catalog.
**Original 1976 vinyl edition of the album. Few copies available** Recorded live at Teatro Delle Arti in Roma, on January 5th, 1976, and released on his own Dischi Della Quercia (like many creative musicians in the ‘70s, Gaslini launched his own record label, both to document his own work and that of his associates) the same year, it is one of the Giorgio Gaslini's most representative works of his career in the 70's. An adventurous album, with bassist Bruno Tommaso and drummer Andrea Centazzo n…
"This lovingly produced and gorgeously packaged LP contains seven previously unreleased electronic pieces that Gagnon realized at McGill University’s Electronic Music Studio. Leading off the proceedings is “Gwendoline Descendue!,” an electronics/tape piece crafted from snippets of Moog modular tones and a variety of instruments created by Hugh Le Caine. It’s a dramatic sample of sci-fi movie elements and jarring bursts of sound that heighten the tension. “Sea Lunch” was created with the not-quit…
