2005 release ** Since 1999, Kinetix is Gianluca Becuzzi, electronic composer and sound artist active since the first half of the 80’s. He writes: “The artistic production of Kinetixis characterised by a strong experimental imprint, by the interest into the expressive possibilities offered by the digital technologies and by a clear aesthetic inclination towards minimalist forms and micro noises/sounds.” (from the website) Really, the music sounds like a study about a representational work of mini…
2004 release ** 3"The different musical experiences of the individual members are evidence of the promiscuity put into play. Valerio Zucca (aka Abstract Q) and Fabrizio Buzzoni, respectively on electronics and guitar, grew up musically in the 80s with the crossover band Nasty Nurses, influenced by Faith No More and Naked City. Zucca will go through the most diverse experiences, from the psychedelia of Disoriente, to the jungle-ambient duo Abstract Quadrant, also active in the cinematographic fie…
T.A.C. sonic trip goes on through unexplored territories, forcing the borders between electronica and new psychedelic soundscapes, making room for gentle ballads merciless deconstructed ... Enter now T.A.C.’s surreal and swirling world. The tribernetic shamans are back…
Deep and wrapping digital soundscapes, dotted by micro-noisy granular material, resonant fields where time and space humble themselves in a single perceptive continuum. Contemporary, abstract, minimal, cold, intense and evocative drone music.
2007 release ** "Although the cover art for Enso is strikingly similar to recent 12k releases, there the similarity ends. With Enso, Luigi Turra has conjured up an organic and contemplative three-track epic, that resonates on subsequent listenings. Infused with Japanese sonic architectures and rigorous reductionist principles, this is a deeply meditative world of gently plucked instruments, and faded atmospherics, peppered with closely focussed tinklings and crystalline shards to add texture. Be…
Moraines II is a radical re-working of the limited cdr release Moraines. The original recordings have been augmented, re-worked and newely mixed into an entirely different piece of music. The final result is far heavier and more substantial work that creates a light and dark relationship with the original release and is much more than a simple ‘remix’of Moraines. Andrew Liles also contributes a track that takes elements and unique contributions to twist the work into his own personal sound world…
2007 release ** "This new Goem release is a solo work by Roel Meelkop (this time without Frans de Waard and Peter Duimelinks). The source material is an anonymous CD, whose samples are used for these eight tracks. The result is a combination of rhythmic patterns with minimalistic passages, strange loops, repetitive elements. Therefore, an interesting episode into Goem’s production, quite different from early releases of the trio, maybe preluding an evolution in its music."
CD re-issue of the second installment in the "Cosmic Debris" split ART-LP series set up by Maurizio and Roberto Opalio, aka My Cat Is An Alien, on their own Opax Records. The Vol.II sees the two space brothers from Torino, Italy, alongside Californian visual and sound artist Steve Roden. What makes this collaborative release so peculiar is the natural interactive exchange occurred between the artists, and that came out from the concept behind the experience itself. Roden's contribution thus repr…
Silent Landscapes, the first volume in Recorded Fields’ “Field Recording Series”, reveals four crisp, meticulously layered vignettes composed from field recordings made throughout Australia. Setting aside the 70's synth LP vibe of his first album for another trip back in time to the raw electronic sounds of the 50's, Erik Ursich's new exercise in style is much less musical in nature and focusses more on the sounds themselves. Sounds of vintage analog synthesizers which come across as an homage to Louis and Bebe Barron's ground-breaking soundtrack to "Forbidden Planet", with melody and rhythm shunned in favor of texture, timbre and atonality over the course of this album's 5 long tra…

For the first time ever, this book wolfgang voigt – gas presents the visual aspect of the comprehensive gas project. it is not meant to be a monolithic retrospective of his visual work, but it features a broad spectrum of photographic images taken between 1995 and 1998 showing many different moods and perspectives of wolfgang voigt’s cosmos. what they all have in common, however, is the mystical focus and seemingly, the blurring of boundaries between lightness and darkness, happiness and depress…

Olaf Bender is co-founder of Raster-noton label. With Plastic star he (pre-)releases an ep of his upcoming album death of a typographer on the label. Plastic star, the title track, illustrates quite well his main concern with music. a stoical bass drum beat grows, gains energy and intensifies with expressive guitar-like sound waves into an intense and propulsive piece. The sound pretty much reminds of rock music, of the 80-s, but byetone rather focuses on the concept and attitude of that music. …
LP version. Probably Bretschneider's most direct, clear and concentrated work yet, ãRhythm' is neither pop nor avant-garde, but deals simply with the basic principles of any modern music: rhythm. A combination of programming, composition and construction is connected with his very idiosyncratic aesthetic of digital sound but always stays emphatically musical and manages to generate sophisticated and complex rhythm-structures.
