Written and recorded between 1972 and 1982 in Western Oregon, Back to the Woodlands is a previously unreleased, and nearly lost, album made by Ernest Hood during the same era as his near mythical album Neighborhoods. A visionary combination of field recordings, zithers, and synthesizers, Back to the Woodlands offers an unprecedented depth of access to this singular artistic mind.
Born into a musical family, Ernest Hood began a promising career as a jazz guitarist during the 1940s, touring inter…
10 years anniversary limited repress of the amazing "Edena" by Piotr Kurek! As a composer and multi-instrumentalist with a penchant for vintage sound equipment, as well as the practical sense to know where their limitations are, his musical compositions -- part melodic narrative, part sound collage -- distill a sense of nostalgia into a romance for the present. Using a Moebius comic he had never seen (Le Monde d'Edena) and an instrument he would never have (a Mellotron) as a conceptual starting …

Tip! **Edition of 230** This is alga marghen’s third installment of Smegma’s original “Suburban Primitive Avant-folk music” Period (1973-1975) based in Pasadena, featuring three previously unreleased tracks from the deep vault of their home recordings. In the beginning, the Band Smegma had only one rule. No Musicians.
Starting from scratch, they took the Road much less traveled. They were inspired by outsider musical artists of the time such as John Cage, Sun Ra, Captain Beefheart, Wild Man Fish…
* 200 copies. 7" vinyl record with poly, two-sided jacket and dust sleeve * Tetuzi Akiyama plays and explores the guitar with both a primitive-instinctual and technically advanced playing style. Ranging from acoustic minimalist reductionism to maximal full throttled amplication, he seeks to energize, electrify, and connect his own body into his playing and performance. His solo albums cover the realms of Americana-fingerpicking, acoustic slide guitar atonalism, noise, drone, and hi-amp’d infi…
"Entry" is the last remaining track from the late 1979 recordings at Pathway Studios that produced the 4AD 12" Wheel In The Roses the following year. At six minutes, too long for the studio side of that release, the track has been transferred from the original master tapes, cleaned up and is accompanied here with an instrumental version. Tightly-wound, with the typical Rema-Rema elements of Moe Tucker-style pounding (cymbal-free) drums, relentless basslines and Marco Pirroni's feedback-laden gui…
Tip! *99 copies limited edition* “This particular brand of home brew lysergia falls in and out of underground fashion, but it's to Todd's credit that he doesn't seem to give a shit, carrying on as he would regardless. That's what legends are made of, kid… if the hall of fame doesn't give my dude a lifetime achievement award soon, the whole of Greatest Imaginary Hits might be reason enough to start storming the gates and demanding action.” – The Quietus
“AN remain a puzzlingly underrated but in…
*100 copies limited edition. In process of stocking* Through its focus on process and materiality, Bias opens the practice of sound ecology beyond the acoustic to consider the audibility of the chemical composition of soil. From scraps of muddied media buried across three sites in Austria, Greece and Italy, Lami crafts a series of melancholy studies which seem to question the inevitable legacy of human culture and industry in the geological strata.
**Edition of 200. In process of stocking** Compilation of Italian adventurous music featuring Andrea Borghi, Fabio Perletta, Dominique Vaccaro, Lorenzo Abattoir, Giovanni Lami.... A true gem on Tsss Tapes.
*Limited edition of 300 copies. In process of stocking* "Cristiano Bocci’s Beyond the Dark Zones does just what its title promises. It takes us beyond the heavy sounds of dark ambience—not only beyond them, but through them. Bocci’s poetics is rooted in the electronic soil of texture-based music; the plant that grows from it is a multi-faceted, many-branched thing. First, the electronics. Bocci is a skilled creator of audio software; many of the programs he uses to generate and manipulate sound …
Super Tip! Five years on from the recordings of their previous album, "Erinnerungen An Gesichter", Brannten Schnüre continue their conceptual work with a new LP, "Das Glück Vermeiden". Quite contrary to the incantations of reminiscence its predecessor wielded so carefully, this one is all about wanting to forget, a therapeutic process of coming to terms with the fever dreams and ghost stories of the past. But there's much more to this record than just being the flipside to that familiar coin. Ch…
Tip! Some secrets remain untold forever. Luckily, the enigma around Novy Svet's near-mythical "Desde Infierno De Flores" sessions is no longer one of them. Unleashed in only fragmentary and yet incomplete bits on two short mini-cds on their in-house label nekofutschata in 2004 and 2005, this "Hell made of flowers" was the place where the Austrian cult-duo scattered their legacy onto a whole new level of wtf? Sound alchemy, taking musical liberties like never before. Much to the astonishment of s…

*2022 stock. Limited edition of 300 copies.* The first release of 2021 by i dischi di angelica is an archive recording documenting a trio of musicians that emerged from the Bologna music scene between the end of the '80s and the beginning of the '90s: Luigi Lullo Mosso (double-bass player and performer, both solo and with Vakki Plakkula, Specchio Ensemble, Roy Paci, Vincenzo Vasi, Guglielmo Pagnozzi, Alessandro Bosetti, etc.), Massimo Simonini (sound manipulator with N.O.R.M.A., Tiziano Popoli, …
The Berlin based duo Itchy Spots combine falling words with tricky rhythms. Their music concerns the simultaneity of intensity and nonchalance, feverish high speed drumming, static sounds and tribal hypnosis. The vocal performance seems to stand alone, it is independent from whats happening rhythmically, yet it all melts together perfectly. Grooving skeletons of songs, rituals and shamanism. Itchy Spots are James Main (former singer and lyricist with Wild Daughter) and Ansgar Wilken (Ilse Lau, F…
Marsha Fisher is a Minneapolis based composer and sound artist. Originally from Nebraska, they participated heavily in the Lincoln DIY scene. They bring the DIY ethos into their experimental music practice by using consumer tape players and cassettes to replicate musique concrète techniques in a context more similar to harsh noise. Fisher also runs the tape labels Gay Hippie Vampire and Activated Skeleton and has recent releases on Orb Tapes, Falt, and Full Spectrum Records.

This is easily the most frightening and naked recording by Greek vocalist Demetrio Stratos, scripted by poet Nanni Balestrini and later choreographed by Valeri Magli after his death. The text of Le Milleluna was 100 words, all beginning with the letter "s" and all of which had some sexual allusion or connotation. The show that Stratos performed was completely free of all academic exploration. Instead, he had internalized each of these words for an articulation original to the performance of the …
Edition of 300 * It Deel is a new project for the upcoming years by the Kleefstra Bros in collaboration with Popfabryk. The underlying motive for this new project is the disastrous damage to the nature. Together with guest musicians the brothers work on new material in the Thomaskerk in Katlijk (Friesland, NL) which stands in relation to this theme of environmental decline. Each project is presented live in front of an audience after a week, and results in a vinyl release on Moving Furniture Rec…
Following releases on West Mineral and Lillerne Tapes, Iggy Romeu’s inimitable Mister Water Wet project makes its Soda Gong debut. “Top Natural Drum” feels like a double entendre ode to digging culture, drawing equally from the plantlife in the dirt and the grooves in the stacks. Tracks like opener “Soak” concoct a haze of resonant ceramic/wooden percs, skittering drum programming, and addictive yet diffuse melodic and harmonic textures. Dusty-fingered nodders like “Caged at Last”, “Classicfit,”…
