Live at Jerusalem
In December of 2007 the mighty duo that is OM made a pilgrimage to Israel to play for its people. Their pinnacle performance unfolded at 4 Aristobolus Street in Jerusalem the site of Uganda Records. The band played for over 4 hours on this evening! The tracks: “Flight of the Eagle” and “Bhimas’ Theme” were captured and the transmission of these recordings were flown back to the United States where the vinyl lacquers were made by Bob Weston.
Gettin\' Gone
Still riding high on the glorious steed that was Green Blues (heads are still processing its smoked grooves and wild-at-heart paeans to love and kosmiche carnality), Matt Valentine and Erika Elder entered a Western Mass studio armed with enough fresh material to choke a whole team of horses. You may ask, 'how can this be?' Well, since recording their Ecstatic Peace! debut, the duo has toured extensively, all the while writing tunes, scavenging esoteric guitar equipment & revamping their backing …
Boss
From the clatter of the White Stripes to the dream-pop of Beach House, there have been plenty of duos to please divergent tastes. Perhaps the appeal of the twofer is that it requires a minimalism that mothers interesting combinations, and the Magik Markers are no different. “Axis Mundi” tears Boss open with a tea kettle-hiss of feedback, affirming the group’s noise pedigree. The shifting rhythm of drummer Pete Nolan and Elisa Ambrogio’s barbed guitar reveal a newfound ease with free-flowing groo…
s/t
Simply put, Jeremy Kelly s an incredible artist and musician. There's a few things you should know -- first, he's an effects-building wizard. He makes a lot of his own stuff, giving his music unique sounds and textures. Also, he's one hell of a guitar player with one hell of a nice guitar. Third, his circuit-bending wizardry also lends its hand to his mighty Doepfer modular synth, which has its tendrils woven all throughout his debut CD. This self-titled effort is a cohesive conglomeration of a …
Zamuro
Limited edition of 300 copies in a heavy stock screen printed jacket. Numbered. A Zamuro is a dark South American vulture of great size. Zamuro is also a solo composition piece for portable synth and analog filter. Side A on this LP is a live realization of this piece recorded at the Compound in San Francisco in 2006 (Mastered by Lasse Marhaug). Carlos composed and performed this piece live on several tours in the US/Europe/Japan all trough out 2006 and 2007, if you saw him live in those two yea…
From a Window to a Stone
Striking work by this Israeli singer-songwriter, possessing a willowy, chilling voice and milky lower register, delicately accented in the style of a femme Nick Drake channeling Nico, that lends a spectral presence to this gorgeously arranged set. Orchestrated by Greg Weeks (Espers), From a Window to a Wall blends a tapestry of acoustic guitars, strings, harmonium and minimal percussion into a style both classical and popular, recalling the glories of early '70s folk productions of Joe Byrd. "Ma…
Beyond the Black Crack
Beyond the Black Crack was the concept of Reverend Dwight Frizzell, a musician, film maker, Doctor of Metaphysics and minister in the Universal Church of Life. It remains a little known classic, and one of the most unique listening experiences in modern experimental music. Recorded between 1974 and 1976 in locations as diverse as factories, the pyramid opposite Harry Truman's grave site as well as more 'conventional' concert settings. Beyond the Black Crack is a dark, dizzying and exhilarating j…
In the Great Abbey of Clement VI
RESTOCKED: one of the real 'drone masterpiece'...The very first note is the loudest, and should be overpowering. This single first note, after I stop playing, continues for 14 seconds into silence just before the next note. You will eventually learn to tell when I quit playing and leave only the echo, but at first you may be deceived. "Standing Waves - 1976" is straight-forward enough until you begin to hear multiphonics. Later on I merge into intense multiphonics with altered mouth shapes to em…
The Complete Studio Recordings NYC 1977 to 1978
The complete recordings of Mars -- one of the lesser-known groups of the New York no wave scene, but a razor-sharp combo with some especially great guitars! The CD pulls together material from the group's first single, their following EP, and the famous No New York compilation -- all of it nicely tied up in a flurry of fast, edgey guitars -- as stark as they are dark -- propelled with fast, muddy rhythms that occasionally get a bit dubby -- and some vocals that are often at their most comfortabl…
Will Make You Ill
Alga Marghen presents Modern Shit, a very singular chapter in the Amos/It's War Boys / Milk From Cheltenham / Homosexuals history. Directly taken from the original It's War Boys catalog, here is one of the most obscure sonic works of the early 1980s, Modern Shit! First "issued" on tape, this work circulated only privately among the close friends of the label and was never officially distributed. Actually, it represents one of the most intense and experimental outputs of this creative London…
The Viking of 6th Avenue - The Authorized Biography
Here is one of the most improbable lives of the 20th century: a blind and homeless man who became a famous eccentric in New York, and who rose to prominence as an internationally respected music presence. Born Louis Thomas Hardin in 1916, Moondog first made an impression in the late ’40s when his music was played by the New York Philharmonic at Carnegie Hall. His unique, melodic compositions were released on the Prestige jazz label. In the late ’60s the Viking-garbed Moondog was a pop music sens…
Sickness Report
Atrax Morgue was the nom de plume of Italian noisy type Marco Corbelli. This album from '96 is a blood and thunder, bass heavy assault on the senses. Cold and surgical powerelectronics inspired by sickness, diseases and forensic pathology.
Necessary Discomforts
Premature Ejaculation is Williams' long-running collaboration with performance artist Chuck Collision. (The two worked as a street performance team called the Happiest Place on Earth). Necessary Discomforts, the duo's first widely available release, consists of six long, dreary, monotonous instrumentals: hell's version of Muzak? With typical calculated-to-offend taste, the cover photo shows an angel-faced young boy in a suggestive, full- frontal nude pose.
Advanced Alchemy of Music
Peter Frohmader released so many albums (some are only on cassette) during his long musical career that it's almost impossible to count them up accurately. The 75-minute "Advanced Alchemy of Music" is from 1994. It consists of six long tracks, and the CD booklet features an amazing surrealistic artwork done by Peter himself.
Stoneface
Nigel Ayers’ most accessible emission? The glut of his ‘band’s prolific history has generally been a full-scale assault upon the senses, via either dingy slabs of noise or near-pretty industrial musique concrete. Stoneface operates on many levels, a set of gruelling, scraping, yet strangely attractive organic sounds that reveal numerously coloured layers with successive listens. Recorded in 1988, these nineteen sonic morsels play with near-baroque tendencies, devolved factory rhythms, spiritual …
Zombie Bloodbath on the Isle of Dogs
The Recedents (Lol Coxhill, Roger Turner, Mike Cooper) demonstrate that you can be avant-garde and have fun at the same time. This is the soundtrack for a "yet-to-be-made"  film about a conflict between zombies and a new housing tract.  The plot is summarized in the liner notes. Each piece makes reference to this film in some way. The music ranges from the reggae-like title track, to avant rock, to rockabilly, to electrified free-form improvisations. Do not buy if you think  humour doesn't belon…
Das Wunden
Not only a collaborator with various producers on a Wales/Bavaria/Catalonia axis, but also member of Hardcore band Mass, Robert Merdzo is also seem to be a bit of a musical magpie, dipping into various genres for source material, ideas and a few lifted manouvres.
Uno Es El Cubo
With this work Eduardo Polonio has shown us that the electroacoustic music proves to be an excellent base in an opera performance. And more than that: in this way, the possibilities which remain open are relevant.
Electric Chair And Table

The Music In Movement Electronic Orchestra (mimeo) presents a double CD with recordings made at the Cologne "Jack Pohl presents..." festival in December 1998. Marcus Schmickler and Rafael Toral each edited one CD from the seven hours of live material. After the documentation CD queue (GROB 005, now avai…
