A massive Kluster UNRELEASED MUSIC!from Qbico's words... "when i mailed the news about the closure of qbico in 2010, some friends and musicians wrote me back... one was Conrad Schnitzler wondering if i wanna close with THE BOM…
this is an archived recording that sat in the vaults for 30 years before it was issued by the great qbico. this recording is a tough one to sit through, sort of like any early synth recordings, a veritable wankfest of synthesized bleeps and blurps. but don't let that fool you, this is way better than many other synthesizer albums of the period, having more of a range of sounds and feelings than most bands that did this sound, and for 1972 it's pretty impressive. still, sitting through 40+ minute…
Sax player Steve Mackay blow with The Stooges on the legendary Fun House session in 1970 (and rejoined them in 2003 when they played their first show in 29 years at the Coachella Festival, and he has performed with them ever since + rec. two more albums)... nearly 25 years later he got involved w/Radon Ensemble, which includes members from such disparate groups such as Temple of Bon Matin & the Arthur Doyle EAE (Paternostro/Wilcox), Nimrod (Lohman), Koonda Holaa (Kamilsky), ect... the 10 tracks …
Green vinyl with grey. Pengo is: John Schoen, Jason Finkbeiner, R. Nuuja. Pengo comes from Rochester, NY and are simply a dark-bright beacon of madness in the subterranean swamp of psychedelic junk collectors. They're kind of elusive, having issued only an LP prior to this release (it had been a year since we're working on this album) + a few CD-Rs and tapes. Got affiliations with Coffee & the Doyle EAE... wild stuff/weird vibes!
Black vinyl with insert. Performed by: Mark Bajuk, Tony Fasce, Silvia Feriozzi, Eric Mauer, Brent Peich, Russ Waterhouse. The next evolutionary step from Double Leopards and Family Underground, very subtle and psychedelic music.
Dark red vinyl. After releasing two unique LPs back in the '60s for the legendary ESP label with his Ritual All 770 and another one for Riverboat, finally Alan Sondheim is back! This is his 1st LP after nearly 35 years and here he plays guitar, alpine zither, electronics, field recordings... as usual he presents us an eclectic mix of fascinating sounds.
New European folk/trance orkustra from Denmark with their debut release on Qbico. Various acoustic instruments cohere in hymns to the roar of the cosmos that are as dippily fried as the first Siloah LP and as aggressively invasive as Pelt at their most planet-levitating. Their name comes from Shirley Collins's tracing of the idea of the true love knot to the Danish word Trulofa.
Originally from Sacramento, CA this is a rude boy duo. The record begins with some of the most crude and rough guitar/drums duo mu ever! Then you'll drift toward a far away place... to be finally hypnotized for 25 minutes by a side-long track... derailing!
Performed by: Psychatrone (synth), Brian Turner (guitar). Recorded 1996 live to tape. One side is a synth/gt duo with WFMU's boss Brian Turner, while side B is a solo synth. Both tracks recorded in the mid-'90s. Psychedelic waveforms with a freeform sound that grows on you... subtle and mesmerizing.
Clear azul vinyl, artwork by Joana Da Conceicao. For sure one of the weirdest and most unique records on Qbico, thanks to this young couple from Porto; hard to explain, no easy listening... but once you get attuned, it grows on you... deeply. Some vague similarities with the Astral Social Club LP.
Picture disk, with artwork by Chris Pottinger & Jamie Easter. Recorded between 2004-2007 in Detroit, Ferndale, and Hamtramck, Michigan. Performers: Chris Pottinger, Jamie Easter, Heath Moerland, Glen Morren, Chris Sprague, Matt Smith, Noah Eikhoff & Free Wade. Their 1st LP that came out a couple of years ago, was among the best things I had heard and seen in the last few years. So I didn't hesitate to get in touch with them. They kindly brought some odd clouds at the Qbico U-nite I did in 2007, …

Cow's milk vinyl, artworks and music by Chris Pottinger, with insert. Side A originally released as a limited edition CD-R art set in 100 copies on Tasty Soil, Creature. B1 track is unreleased, recorded in 2007. B2 originally released in 2006 on Fag Tapes as a side of a tour cassette with Sick Llama. B3 was played as a loop for 8 months straight on a pirate radio station that broadcast out of the Cloud House on 107.9 FM. Far-out electronic music for the third millennium! The track on side A is s…
Recorded by Jeremy Wilms and Torbitt Schwartz at I.T.S. studio, Brooklyn; November 14, 2007. Andrew Barker (drums, percussion, jaw-harp); Jaime Fennelly (electronics, harmonium); Charles Waters (alto sax, clarinet, bass clarinet). Pressed on yellow & black-striped vinyl.
Artwork by Muruga. Recorded in 2007 at Sage CT. Studio, Michigan. Muruga (drums, bells, shaker, Nada drum, conga, jimbay, synth); Perry Robinson (clarinet, wood whistles). This magical duo is the result of more then 30 years of playing together/friendship. Two side-long tracks, Muruga on side A is on drums/synth, while on side B on various perc. instruments. The bubble waves bring you closer to the light, while the bubble beat makes you wanna dance... the preacher meets the magician.
