“Dead of winter, a hidden chapel, silent prayers echoing.” We first introduced Haruka Nakamura’s first full-length piano-based album ‘Twilight’ in 2010. The studio-recorded album was extolled and acclaimed by fans and critics alike in Japan. Building on the strengths and success of its predecessor, haruka nakamura returns with this one, a 2 CD 106 minutes collection entitled ‘Ongaku no Aru Fuukei’ (English Translation: Music with scenery). Recorded at concert hall ‘sonorium’ in Tokyo, the album …

Released at the occasion of their 2024 Japan tour, it follows their debut LP Troubled Water (TT005 – LP). The album’s title aptly captures the essence of their music. In Japanese, “Tagiru” describes the act of boiling or seething, whether it pertains to water or other liquids reacting to heat or agitation. Metaphorically, it illustrates heightened emotions or situations of intense fervor. This theme of boiling intensity runs through the six tracks, each piece brimming with emotional depth and en…
"Limitation Is Necessary is the third set of music by Massachusetts-based string genius Lloyd Thayer we've had the honor of releasing. This follows the Duets LP (with percussionist Jerome Duepree) on which lloyd split his playing between a Weissenborn lap guitar and a 22 string Chaturangui, and the Twenty20 CD which was all done on a double-necked Weissenborn. Both of these album deep and monumental explorations of mesmeric string textures filled with elements that ranged from Indian Classical t…

With Anchors, Chicago-based bass clarinetist Jason Stein returns after six years with his most personal album to date. It was created together with bassist Joshua Abrams (Natural Information Society, of which Stein has been a member since 2017), drummer Gerald Cleaver, and guest artist/co-producer Boon. Anchors are, so often, symbolic of strength and stability. They reflect our capacity to steady ourselves in turbulent waters, allowing us to traverse the deepest seas. With anchors aboard, we can…

The A-side and title track of this cassette is a live document of one the best live concerts I've seen/heard in the past few years. It was recorded during a house party cookout in Leila Bordreuil’s backyard that I was lucky enough to attend. She played along to a video recording her partner’s family had made for their insurance after a garage fire back in 1991. The audio of the video was played through the PA and Leila slowly builds her electronics and cello into a psychotic inferno of wild nois…

In Timo van Luijk's own words: This album is a bit of an accumulation of coincidences. It is the first recording session I did with Kris Vanderstraeten, back in 1994, together with Daniel Duchamp and Luis Ferin. The session recording had since disappeared from attention and 30 years later, while going through old DAT tape archives, I came across it by chance, initially even not knowing who/what it was...The tape started with a recording of cars, captured from my balcony in Brussels, where I live…
Black vinyl + insert. Unreleased soundtrack by Banco del Mutuo Soccorso recorded in 1981 and unveiled for the first time. “Greggio e Pericoloso” is a 1975 novel written by the engineer and science communicator Roberto Vacca, which narrates an intricate story of fictional-economic and political intrigue arising from the possibility that a resource such as petroleum might turn out to be an inexhaustible resource on our planet. In 1981, that same book became material for the screenplay of four-epis…
