*300 copies limited edition* Composition, improvisation, and performance are no longer the only elements at play in Dunston’s recorded work. On Skultura, he continuously shapes the music with various sound-manipulation techniques to create an album that is meticulous as it is visceral. To quote Jacob Garchik’s liner notes, the ‘work is made of continuous waves of inspiration and creation, strata of improvisations madepermanent, each layer related to the one below, or not’. Skultura is revered in…
*300 copies limited edition* "Keith was a dear friend firstly. He was a generous, wonderful person and, of couse, a genius, a true artist. We all owe so much to him for we started our label with his critically acclaimed piano solo “Mujician IV - Live in Piacenza”, way back in 2015. We welcome this album as a real blessing for the soul. So long dear Keith: your music shall live forever." - Max Marchini

'Flax' is a 79-minute solo work for piano by the Canadian composer Martin Arnold. It was commissioned in 2020 by the pianist Philip Thomas, but sadly Philip became seriously unwell shortly afterwards. Martin Arnold completed the composition in 2021, and - as Philip was now unable to perform it - the project was taken on by Kerry Yong, with Philip's agreement and support. 'Flax' was premiered by Kerry Yong at the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival in November 2023, when the CD recording was…
Vinylization of the splendid 2021 cassette, issued by Garden Portal. The music was recorded partially out west in San Francisco and Point Reyes (hence the title), as well as in Jeffrey Alexander's current locale of Philadelphia. An instrumental addition to Alexander's canon, the music was mostly generated on guitar, but other sonic elements include -- bass, pebbles, fake mellotron, waves, moog, shells, fife, magnetic tape, and talking book phonograph. The results are a sweet, rural stroll throug…
Ennio Morricone in his long and wonderful career has composed a large number of soundtracks for Thrillers and Noir. Here is a selection of ten scores which once again demonstrate his immense musical genius. The Palermo Connection by Rosi (1990), Violent City by Sollima (1970), What Have You Done To Solange? by Dallamano (1972), Behind The Trial (1978-1980), The Flower In His Mouth by Zampa (1975) The Human Factor (1975), Short Night Of Glass Dolls by Lado (1971) Almost Human (1974), The Death D…
In his long and successful career Ennio Morricone composed many dance songs as it was in fashion in the late sixties and early seventies. Themes that were usually not directly connected with the subjects of the soundtrack, but which were played in disco clubs, on jukeboxes, turntables and on the radio. This collection contains a selection of very cool pieces such as the brilliant main theme from Grand Slam (1967), the shake rock (opening credits) from Dario Argento’s classic Four Flies On Grey V…
Always timely reissue of Muqata'a's first self-released EP from 2017. After years of fertile digital existence on his own Bandcamp, 'La Lisana Lah' now gets a much deserved tactile version through Souk, the Discrepant sublabel responsible for the already classic 'Inkanakuntu'. One of the most prominent figures of the Palestinian electronic scene, Muqata'a's trajectory has been one of resistance and urgency, leaving a sonic imprint of his own from pretty much the beginning. Without anything tenta…

NPVR is the avant garde duo made up of the late Peter Rehberg and Nik Void. Editions Mego is proud to present their second and final release. No this is not some kind of Beatles synthetic AI that raises the dead reconstructed recordings but rather a new album made by the humans and their machines. The initial meeting of Rehberg and Void was in London in 2016 and despite or due to their mutual awkwardness found solace and compatibility in the fact that they both had a similar electronic modular s…
Following on from his widely praised work for piano, percussion and large ensemble ‘The Horror Of The Avant Garde(S)’ in 2023, NM is pleased to announce the release of Melbourne/Naarm bassist and composer Joseph Franklin’s debut solo album, ‘a thousand tiny mutinies’. Franklin is led here to ‘a thousand tiny mutinies’, a voyage of unhinged polyrhythmic expression and textural investigation. A paean to the systematic deconstruction and rebuilding of the tools of formal training throughout his car…
"The Piano’s been one of the instruments Limpe Fuchs received an academic education for when attending the Music Academy in Munich during the early 1960’s. In the early 1970’s Friedrich Gulda, the world-famous classical pianist, who was eager to leave behind the orthodoxies, limitations and restrictions of the classical music world, got to know Limpe and was inspired by her fearless approach towards music. They started improvising and performing together and their musical dialogue lasted until t…
Part of a (very) loose but somewhat like minded kaleidoscope where one can trace something like a Portuguese hauntology, centred around labels like Russian Library or Prisma Sonora Records, Alexandre Centeio joins Discrepant with the surefire release of 'Panorama'. A multi-instrumentalist and sound artist based in Porto, Centeio - who is also part of Stellarays and The Murmurous Playground - delivers his second album under his own name after 2022's 'Movanta'.

The avant-garde Kraut ensemble Supersempfft laid the foundation for their techno-tropical pop music in 1979 with their debut album "Roboterwerke." In 1981, they followed up with the album "Metaluna," which is now being honored through a re-release on Bureau B. The group, consisting of Dieter Kolb, Franz Knüttel, and Franz Aumüller, fused global influences, experimental sonic landscapes, and surreal lyrics into a unique sonic cosmos. "Metaluna" stands out with its meandering sequences, unconventi…
With "Ein Bündel Fäulnis in der Grube", Holger Hiller presented his solo debut having left Palais Schaumburg. Originally released in 1983 on the Düsseldorf scene label Ata Tak, an international release followed in 1984 via Cherry Red Records. Combining electronic sequencer sounds and sampling fragments with unconventional lyrics its multidisciplinary approach locates it somewhere between the pop and avant-garde. Bureau B is now making the work accessible again on its 40th anniversary.
Based on the live versions of their "Liederbuch" tour, which took the Welttraumforscher from Milano to London or Vienna during the last two years, they developed completely new versions of songs such as "Der Traum der Welt", "This Could Be The Greatest Love in Town" or "Alpha Beta Centauri" in the summer of 2023. These special tracks as well as two unreleased songs can be found on their new cassette, which with the title "1981" refers to the founding year of the Welttraumforscher. After 19 years…
This is the first solo album by Dieter Moebius, recorded at Conny Plank's studio and originally released in 1983 on Sky Records. By 1969 at the latest, Dieter Moebius was synonymous with the avant-garde electronic music scene in Germany. He and Hans-Joachim Roedelius formed Cluster, a seminal electronic/ambient duo, while Moebius was also a member of the so-called Krautrock supergroup Harmonia (with Michael Rother and Roedelius), as well as collaborating on various other projects with the likes …
