Incredible vinyl release of a previously unreleased  live recording of a Belgian concert by the Freddie Hubbard Quintet in 1973. It was recorded by Belgian radio & television broadcasting service (BRT) and is now remastered. It is a sweet electric set recorded right in the middle of his classic years for CTI – and with a sound that's maybe even more sublime than his work for that legendary label! The group here is a hip quintet – with Junior Cook on tenor, and George Cables on some especially great Fender Rhodes. The performance is outstanding, very open, with some key solo moments that also include bass and drum solos – not just the leader's trumpet! The whole thing's a great lost treasure – and has moments that also hint at the direction that Freddie would take in the 80s, especially his superb live work from the early part of that decade.
The lp comes with an extra insert with liner notes by Gilles Peterson and Peter Anthonissen and an extra post card
