A stark and contemplative tribute to composer and intellectual Alain Pierre (1948-2024) by Belgian artist Tim Onderbeke. Published shortly after Pierre's passing, this volume collects 69 black-and-white photographs taken on June 1, 2016, at Pierre's residence and studio, located behind the iconic VRT building in Brussels. Presented without captions and arranged in a purely figurative sequence, the photographs document Pierre in his most natural state—moving through his home, engaging with his archives, and reflecting on his past. Originally intended to accompany the release of Pierre's Jan Zonder Vrees soundtrack on the Stroom label, the images reveal his world of synthesizers and rare electronic equipment in quiet detail. Through close-ups and unguarded moments, Onderbeke captures an unspoken dialogue between man and machine, between memory and creation. With restraint and precision, Quitte à me tromper stands as a solemn meditation on presence and absence, honoring a life dedicated to sound and intellect.
