Available for the first time on vinyl, here's Bill Laswell his sixth solo album City of Light, recorded in Banaras, India, and mixed in Greenpoint, New York. For this project, Laswell invited John Balance and Peter Christopherson from Coil, they created the epic 13-minute composition Kála, and Japanese ambient genius Tetsu Inoue, who decorated the album with its characteristic sound. Together they created an amazing conceptual album full of deep drones, tabla-rhythms, and ambient collages. Originally released by Belgium label Sub Rosa in 1997 on CD only, it was sold out many years ago.
