* 300 copies limited edition * Described as sublime tape music (despite not being released on cassette), Drifting is a transatlantic collaboration between Julia Bjernelind (Amateur Hour), Weston Czerkies (Form Hunter) and Dan Johansson (Sewer Election). A potent trialectic between whom we've never heard a collaboration before, their debut Dream Autopsy certainly sounds like just that; a picking-apart of both manifest and latent dream content in waking sonic life. The "dreaminess" of the album is best represented in its tape hiss; libidinal, childlike vocal delivery; and disinhibited subject matters ('Kill Them All At Once'), as if to express taboo, subconscious desires that haven't yet pierced the limen, but which are no less reflected in analysands' behaviour. A noisy indulging of the eerie dreamworlds not covered or explored by much of the more glossy, clean, "awake" music that predominates out there - how could it? - gear up your ears, pinch out the nightlight, and prepare to interpret your and our collective preconscious, with Dream Autopsy.
