Gwendoline (1984) is an American adventure-fantasy thriller directed by Just Jaeckin. The story follows a beautiful young woman (played by Tawny Kitaen) who travels to an exotic and dangerous land in search of her missing father. Accompanied by her loyal friend Beth and a mercenary named Willard (Brent Huff), Gwendoline's journey takes her into the mysterious and perilous Land of the Yik-Yak. Along the journey, they encounter cannibals, a tribe of Amazonian warriors, and other classic perils of the unexplored jungle.

A decade after Emmanuelle, one of the most iconic French films, Just Jaeckin teamed up again with composer Pierre Bachelet (Emmanuelle, Histoire D’O, Les Bronzés font du ski, Coup de tête) for their final film collaboration on Gwendoline. Inspired by John Willie's notorious S&M comic strip, the movie blends action, fantasy, and eroticism, with a visual style reminiscent of pulp comics and old-fashioned adventure serials. Its campy tone, exotic settings, and daring costumes made it a cult classic. The soundtrack, highlighted by "Willard’s Theme," is a dreamy fusion of synthesizers, baroque influences, and 80s flair, blending traditional orchestral elements with contemporary electronic sounds.

To honor Pierre Bachelet's legacy 20 years after his passing, this special edition presents the original LP program, previously released by RCA, remastered from Sony Music's pristine stereo master tapes. Limited to 500 individually numbered copies, the album is pressed on silver-and-black marbled vinyl.
