2005 release ** "Into the Void is a reflection upon the history and the recent changes in the Krakovian neighborhood of Kazimierz. The center of this meditation is the seemingly contradictory development of the last few years, which shows the attempts to re-animate Jewish culture. This piece is an attempt to reverse the seasons from summer to winter in the 700-year-old Jewish district of Krakow. What struck Meissner at first sight, was the glaring contrast between the rich, the rise of the material culture and the seeming absence of real community exterminated during the Nazi era. Four months later, on June 26th 2003, at Krowoderska52 club in Krakow, Sebastian Meissner, Ran Slavin and Eran Sachs offered the final effects of their research in the form of a series of pieces. They carefully crafted crunchy steps, freezing wind, cracking ice and conversations into a mesmerizing film for the ears. The imaginative power of the music was reinforced by Slavin's video impressions -- equally apt in conjuring up desolate though meaningful digital environments referring to Nowa Huta -- the empty, large, defunct metal industry zone."
