Lilac Angels was a German krautrock band active in the seventies. Made up of friends of NEU! and La Dusseldorf frontman Klaus Dinger, who also co-produced and their debut album, released on his record label 'Dingerland'. However, it was a relative commercial failure and Dinger had pressed three times as many copies as he meant to. Dinger became bankrupt and as a result founded La Dusseldorf in a last gasp attempt at succes. La D. got #3 on the German music charts for their debut single and Lilac Angels continued without the help of Dinger, to release a further album in 1978. In 2009 Japanese record label Captain Trip (who also release many latterday Dinger albums, reinventing the Dingerland brand to facilitate this) re-relased the two original Lilac Angels CDs as well as an unreleased third album made in 1981.
