Only a handful of years after their launch in 2018, the Belgian Imprint, Matière Mémoire, has already proven to be a label to watch. Focused on releasing new works by some of the most important figures in contemporary experimental music, they dove into 2020 with the MMXX Series. Arguably their most ambitious project to date, the series commissioned 20 artists - Charlemagne Palestine, Jim O'Rourke, John Duncan, CM Von Hauswolff, Susana Santos Silva, and a host of others - to produce a 20 minute work, to be issued on single sided crystal clear vinyl, with a laser engraved artwork on the other, accompanied by a print of the artist artwork and contained in transparent sleeve printed with the MMXX logo.
