"O Most Noble Greenness is a collaboration across centuries between Du.0 and Hildegard von Bingen, a German abbess and composer from 1100 A.D. Though separated from the composer by the remove of time, language, geography, and instrumentation, we nevertheless felt Hildegard’s presence as a living, breathing source of inspiration. Channeling Hildegard’s visceral embodiment of natural and mystical imagery, we deconstruct her song "Item de Virginibus" to uncover new sonorities and form. Throughout the compositional process, we found landing points within her melody that opened into pools of sonic unity, anchoring the piece between periods of timbral and harmonic expansion. The coda illuminates the husk of Hildegard’s original structure and reduces it to its most skeletal form." - Du.0
