"Hideto Kanai's first album is fairly hit-or-miss free jazz, but here he's in full-blown Black Saint and the Sinner Lady mode. There are twenty three musicians on this album (twenty three!), and while the undercurrent of free jazz is still running through, it's much closer to experimental big band or avant-garde jazz. And it's extremely compelling. Two side-long pieces, both of which go in and out of being quite elaborate and being complete chaos. There's some unusual and dissonant guitar and synthesizer playing on this thing (and weirdo synthesizer at that. none of your cheesy 70s synth tones here), and it's well-produced without ever being slick. And you're lucky when any of that's true of a jazz album from 1975. So it's a shame then that few have heard it. And I'm surprised it hasn't been reissued yet. His first album finally got a CD release in the 2000s. Twice. And this is waaaaaaaaay more interesting." - Thrasher
