"Renaissance is back, this time with a double CD on Maciek Karlowski's Fundacja Sluchaj!. This clearly, the trio's masterpiece: rick, diverse, amazingly deep, emotional, expressive and simply beautiful like hell. Disc 1, "Gesualdo", contains Anna Gadt's arrangements, deconstructions and her own original music obviously related to ancient, renaissance music. With one exception: "Monumentum" de-constructs already a de-construction of ancient music by Igor Stravinski of the same title. Everything is outstanding here... Anna's singing is voyage through the all possible styles of contemporary avantgarde vocalism. Krzysztof Gradziuk's drumming proves that he is one of the leading drummers in Poland, Europe and the worlds, especially in his ability to underline the art of his collaborators. Zbigniew Chojnacki in addition to his world master level oin accordion, shows his amazing maturity with live electronics. Recorded live in Tokarnia Studio, Nieporet in May 2021 by Jan Smoczynski is an undisputable masterpiece of this kind of music and not only. Disk 2, "Renaissance Live", recorded live at Festiwal Firmament in December 2018, contains older material, more related to the first album of the trio. The atmosphere of the concert, however, is incredible, so the expressive, emotional and simply persuasive power of this music is much higher. They play a suite in six parts, with highlight being over 18 minutes long "Part 1", 20 minutes long "Part 2", and the final "Part VI". The concept of the music: a mixture of avantgarde, free improvisation and ancient music is similar, but the performance is not from this planet, no, not from the Solar system, no, not from this Galaxy!" - Maciej Lewenstein
