**Edition of 200, sold out at source** For Romani musicians, music and life are often opposite sides of the same coin; much like a bridge, with its above, where people walk, and its below, which is mostly hidden to the view. Roma is an imaginary line, made of sound, that runs perpendicular to the horizontal, physical axis of a bridge, subtly trying to oppose, deny, and overturn this flat polarity.
Roma is a limited edition of 200 signed and numbered vinyl records by the artist Giorgio Andreotta Calò. The 40-minute LP is related to the sound installation of the same name produced in Ponte della Musica (The Music Bridge), Rome, on the occasion of “Temporaneo”, a public art project that took place in October 2011.
The record consists in music by Adrian Bilteanu, a Rom street musician who plays his violin in the evenings between piazza Navona and the fountain of Trevi.
