Inspired by Claude Debussy's composition of the same name, the Roman pianist within this work guides listeners on a diaphanous and enchanted sound journey, in which the piano becomes a diary capturing subtle emotions and moments of wonder: “I have always loved snow. An impalpable white blanket that seems to erase every imperfection,” Stàlteri explains. Among the 8 unreleased tracks is 'The Snows of Caradhras,' divided into two parts, which pays homage to 'The Lord of the Rings' trilogy, a longtime passion of Stàlteri's. 'Falling Snow,' also in two sections, depicts the silent descent of snowflakes. 'Snjokorn,' which means 'snowflake' in Icelandic, is a more whimsical and lively piece. 'Land of Icicles' describes an imaginary landscape of ice stalactites. Another important track is 'Des Pas sur la Neige,' inspired by Debussy's first book of preludes, which leaves behind light and enchanting footprints. 'Like Snow' has the charm of a fairy tale song, while 'Hans im Schneesturm' draws inspiration from Thomas Mann's famous novel 'The Magic Mountain.' The disc closes with 'The Snow is Dancing,' once again a tribute to Debussy's extraordinary creativity.
