2008 release ** "The minimalism that Andrea Sartori had proposed to us some time ago, rich in live sound objects, field recordings in tune with ambient, returns deprived of the connection with the dancefloor in this beautiful album by Mou, lips!, a sonic creation by Andrea Gabriele. The proposal inevitably hooks up with the sandy drifts of Boards of Canada in the very hot incipit Non è colpa mia! to then move on to a meditative journey made of acoustic guitars (for INstruments), trumpets and clarinets treated with a retro soul (still life(s) live), voices that recall the historic Lali Puna (untree, cosa buena) to then connect with the illbient school in the reshaping of sounds by Steve Vitiello (vitiello tre mix). The ingredient that jumps to the ear is the close connection with jazz, almost a confirmation that follows the tests of the Italian star Gianluca Petrella or the wizards of contamination Cobblestone Jazz. Here the electronics that mixes in infinite ‘minimal’ subgenres is still linked to listening and does not seem to be projected either for a live destination, or for the dance floor. A new and beneficial return to the aesthetics of Intelligent Electronic Music that were popular in the 90s with Warp (vit virt and the inevitable reference to Aphex Twin in the conclusive piano and bottles), makes one think of this album as yet another confirmation for a 2008 dominated by ambient."
