Classroom projects - Incredible music made by Children in school
Incredible music made by children in schools" says is it all really. Jonny Trunk has collected the best moments of that most niche of niche collectors' genres, the school album, spanning music by small primary school choirs singing folk songs to full-blown avant-garde experiments written and performed by children still at secondary or grammar school. As with practically all Trunk releases, it's a nostalgic gas for anyone over a certain age - we reckon anyone younger than 25 may be baffled and be…
Running and Chanting and Falling and Ranting
Privately issued by the artist in collaboration with alga marghen, "Running and Chanting and Falling and Ranting" is quite a unique book presenting Charlemagne Palestine complete video production. “Body Music I” (1973) and “Body Music II” (1974) were Palestine’s first incursions into the video medium. They were followed, from 1974 until 1979, by a series of works that together form one of the seminal and most distintive bodies of conceptual, performance-driven video of that decade. As a co…
Veterans of disorder
Back in play just to celebrate 14 years, 2 months and 12 days since its original release is Royal Trux's penultimate album, Veterans of Disorder. Coming off the fan-favorite Accelerator LP, it was clearly time to build on expectations, right? Uh... listen, maybe this isn't the band for you. Neil and Jennifer were fans of rock n roll to the finish, sure -- but in that, Royal Trux was a dyed-in-the-wool contrarian enterprise, rebels to the core, and everything they endeavored to was viewed from th…
Mirror repair
Gastr Del Sol emerged from the remains of Bastro in 1992 with the brooding, mostly drumless album, ‘The Serpentine Similar’. This represented an unlikely evolution from the fury of Bastro, but evolution was only getting started - and ‘unlikely’ was one of the ongoing principles in Gastr Del Sol’s approach. Before the sessions for the second album, Bundy Brown left the group and David Grubbs asked Jim O’Rourke to come play. 1994’s ‘Crookt, Crackt Or Fly’ tangled the clean lines of the original ba…
Kamasutra - Vollendung Der Liebe OST
Gatefold 2LP version. An unreleased soundtrack from 1968 composed and recorded by Irmin Schmidt and The Inner Space. A precursor to Krautrock pioneers Can, Schmidt's 1968 recording assembles Can's original line-up -- Michael Karoli, Jaki Liebezeit and Malcolm Mooney -- who later went on to craft the band's seminal debut, Monster Movie. The film Kamasutra: Consummation of Love switches between India and Germany and stars Bruno Dietrich and Barbara Schöne. A prime example of late-1960s German erot…
Wood Flute Songs: Anthology/Live 2006-2012
Some of the most amazing work we've ever heard from this legendary bassist – a set that's not based around music from a wooden flute, but which instead refers to the instrument in its title – as an illustration of the very organic approach of the work within! A 8CD box set of all previously unissued recordings by world-renowned bassist-composer-bandleader William Parker, a 2013 recipient of the Doris Duke Foundation's Artist Award. Parker is a wonderfully prolific composer, and over half of t…

Volume three in this essential and peerless series. Loud gunshots with reverb and echo appear wit…
Rising from the red sand Volumes I - V
‘Rising From The Red Sand’ was one the most comprehensive compilations of early 80’s industrial, wave and underground music, spanning a total of five cassettes, compiled by Gary Levermore for his own Third Mind Records label (which has also recently been revived). The original five tapes are now released as a 5xLP set, following several months of tracking down as many artists as possible to obtain their permission to reissue their material. Almost all were found, although nine tracks are missing…

Moonyean
**last copies** Re-release of a heartbreaking, beautifully enigmatic masterpiece by the venerable guitar virtuoso Loren Connors. "In 1994, after the Hell's Kitchen Park album and Mother & Son 7” ep had come out, a semi-sequel to the latter was released by Table of the Elements in the form of a 7-inch ep called The Five Points. The record told a short story of a New York City slum of that name, which counted the city's most mortalities in the year 1857, of which most were Irish children under six…
Demiurge
Multiverse - the constellation of forward-thinking Bristol labels that also includes Tectonic, Kapsize and Caravan - reactivates its seminal Subtext imprint for a daring new LP from Emptyset. A collaboration between Mutiverse boss James 'Ginz' Ginzburg and Paul Purgas, Demiurge is the second album by Emptyset, and finds them reducing their production process down to a singular signal chain channelled into a modulated analogue hardware line (or so we're told). The results are somewhere between dr…
Live at Cbgb 1986
“Not since the early days of MC5 at the Grande Ballroom in Detroit, circa 1968, had there been such an organic melding of sheer metalesque maelstrom and free jazz. These archival recordings from the legendary punk club CBGB capture a moment in time when open-minded musicians from the 'downtown scene' were exploring the possibility of bringing Lou Reed's feedback-infested Metal Machine Music together with Albert Ayler's Love Cry. Dissipated Face guitarist Kurt "Hologram" Ralske and special guest …
Infant Eyes
Doug Carn created a personalized strain of jazz music that expressed a loving hopefulness. He found a home at the Black Jazz label, where African-Americans called the shots and, of course, racial tension was nonexistent. Who was this 22-year-old whose first album, Infant Eyes, sold very well away from the machinations of the music industry? Once a child prodigy on piano and alto saxophone, Carn had attended Jacksonville University on a full music scholarship and afterwards performed on th…
Earth Liver
New full-length from San Francisco based Common Eider, King Eider. Themes, instrumentation, and vocal decay is stretched out even more dramatically by this mysterious band of outsiders. Genres bleed into each other and smear reality as elements of drone, doom, neo-folk, and black metal deliver a harrowing and somber reality of loss and emptiness. Silence weaves in and out of vocal arrangements, violas, and guitars creating unease throughout the entire listening experience. Four new pieces…
Ujamt / Harmony Hammond
CD edition covering the impossible to find private releases by the cult Norwegian loner "pretty much everyone who heard Nils Rostad’s stunning Ujamt LP was blown away and Harmony Hammond builds on the weirdo cultic avant/folk edge of that release with a series of guitar/percussion/organ/folk constructions that come over like a one man Faust Tapes, moving from mind-bending fuzz guitar dirges that combine squealing punk leads with weird peg-leg rhythms through aching Scandinavian psych/folk lament…
Die Singende Sternlaterne / Folklore Des Weltalls
Planam very proudly presents you "Die singende Sternlaterne / Folklore des Weltalls 1982" by Die Welttraumforscher. This record includes the first time LP edition of the mysterious swiss electro-dada artist's second cassette as well as previously unreleased material. Issued in conjunction with Christian Pfluger first comprehensive retrospective "Ein Sommer in der Wirklichkeit" (i.e. "A Summer in Reality") at Kunsthaus Langenthal and the corresponding monograph "Songs, Signs, Explorations" presen…
Le Bunker de la derniere Rafale
Mindblowing obscure soundtrack taken by "Le Bunker de la Dernière Rafale" made in 1981 by Marc Caro and Jean-Pierre Jeunet, a retro-futuristic medium-length film of 26 minutes bursting with punk and industrial culture, in the tradition of expressionist cinema, and that has the characteristic of being a silent film. At the time the soundtrack was made by the sonorous system Parazite in monaural version for the 35mm copy.
Dominik Steiger als Kind
A Film by Oswald Wiener, Vienna 1965. Austrian artist Domink Steiger (born 1940) as 'a child'. Dressed up in a sailor suit, playing with himself and toys on a roof-top and out in the streets and at a playground with other children under the suspicious eyes of mid 1960's Vienna inhabitants. This work could be seen as some sort of an (unintended) Steiger-esque version of the "Wiener Spaziergang" action by Günter Brus which coincidently happened the same year in the same city. But this film …

Always Sound
A 200 page book of photographs, texts and documents, including three CDs, drawn from the soundworks but recomposed as three related but internally coherent compositions. A contemporary of Richard Long and Andy Goldsworthy, Menter is one of a handful of sound artists with strong links to the land art movement. Now best known for installations that explore the untransformed sounds of natural materials, wood, slate, water, ceramics, stone and air, he also collaborates regularly on cross-platform pr…
