From Yann Novak In Greek mythology, the legend of Theseus describes how the king-founder of ancient Athens rescues the children of his city from King Minos’ minotaur on the island of Crete. In commemoration, Athenians began a pilgrimage to honor his victory, taking the ship of Theseus and sailing it from Athens to Delos. It was with this tradition that a philosophical paradox about the historic ship was raised: As the ship was repaired, piece by piece, until it was no longer composed of any orig…
Nocturnal Emissions was founded in 1980 by Nigel Ayers together with collaborators Daniel Ayers and Caroline K. Tip! "Heimoror" is the übertitle of Rudolf Heimo Eb.er’s audio-working period 2021/22. Most of the source material, documents of obscure and psychomagick acts, were recorded at the attic of the old, but newly inhabited, Om Kult farmhouse near Osaka, Japan. Combined with Rudolf’s organ and violin playing and often edited by the use of monaural cassette recorders and analogue filters, the recordings reflect these grim, animistic-shintōid events and deranged lo-fi rituals commited.

"I got a note from Stephen. As the consummate archiver he had inherited a tape of an interview with me in 1985 done with Kevin Concannon, in particular about my music production. He points out that in it I mention “a device called a digital delay” that I had been exploring. A Deltalab Effectron II Digital Delay, which let you make little short 1 second loops and manually inject other sounds among other things – nice kind of kluge aesthetic. We knew each other through Electronic Arts Intermix wh…

“I was going to be a neo-deconstructivist but mom wouldn't let me”. Writing about Grisha Shakhnes’s music is quite a difficult task. Grisha is involved with the independent music scene since 2008, at first under the name Mites and then with his real name. All these years, he is practicing on music composition, using mainly field recording, tapes and lo-fi electronics, keeping a beautiful balance between real time composition and experimentation. Grisha's sound work has a very personal character …
*In process of stocking* Three-Way Association by Selfish Limbs is a four-track concept album of ambient music, eclectic words, and minimalistic graphic artwork. As another addition to the Adventurous Music Books Series, it starts with the sound that is of spherical crackles and ethereal voices which sometimes seem like coming from Nordic folk music. In addition, choral soundscapes and soft drone-like atmospheres alternate, and dark horizons meet soothing bass. While listening to this, the clear…
