Album #1
Originally released in 1980 in very limited quantities, Salty Miller's sole album is a hidden gem of the Beach Music scene. Issued under the unwieldy Beach Music Records of the Carolinas, the album blends soul, disco, and mid-tempo steppers, all perfectly suited to Beach Music's signature dance, the Shag. The album was dreamt up after Miller had stepped away from the music industry, only to return years later, driven by a mix of disposable income and lingering creative regret. Determined to reco…

The second album of Prague based musician born in Sakha republic is a two-sided EP called “sɯrdɯk / qaraŋa” which means “lightness / darkness”. The name is inspired by the duality of the universe, light and dark sides of a person, ever changing reality. The name of the album is written in the first Sakha alphabet created by Sa…
Night, falling
Gerald Eckert’s third release on Mode, night, falling, is a 2-CD set of mostly works for orchestra, often with electronics. Eckert says: “I am fascinated by orchestral works containing the structures of chamber music. For me, the definition of orchestra is not characterized by its large scale, but genuinely through its individual voices.”His music explores the marginal edges of sound, fractures in tonal constructs, crystalline solidification and instabilities which (for him) always symbolize exi…
The Black Record
Necessary reissue of a truly seminal, minimalist totem
Outside The Dream Syndicate
Temporary Super Offer! Violinist, composer and filmmaker Tony Conrad started his career in New York in the early 1960s. As a member of the Theatre of Eternal Music (a.k.a. the Dream Syndicate) alongside John Cale, La Monte Young, Marian Zazeela and Angus MacLise, he participated in now-legendary and often legendarily loud drone performances with many pieces having no beginning and no end. During a fateful trip to Germany in 1972, Conrad met with avant-rock visionaries Faust and made the very fir…
In Concert at Yale University
Bomb! Sourced from the master tapes. First-time vinyl reissue Black vinyl single LP version. The late percussionist Milford Graves was one of the most unique artists the world has ever seen. Born in Jamaica, Queens in 1941, he began his career in the early '60s as a part of New York's vibrant Latin jazz scene. His focus quickly turned inward, shifting towards a practice that explored the very nature of self. From his work in the New York Art Quartet and collaborations with Albert Ayler, Sonny …
The Complete Yale Concert, 1966
Bomb! ** Sourced from the master tapes. First-time vinyl reissue ** Groundbreaking early work from drummer Milford Graves and pianist Don Pullen – a set of long, free improvisations that were originally issued on Graves' Self-Reliance Productions label! The music is even more striking than sounds from the time on the ESP label – and also really predates some of the freer work of this type from the European scene – as Graves is a monster on the drum kit and a range of percussion, reaching out wit…
Pokkeherrie
Emerging out of Amsterdam's vibrant squat scene in 1979, The Ex – a name chosen for the ease and speed with which it could be spray-painted onto a wall – have for four decades been an entirely self-sustaining musical entity, charting a course through the global underground with a spirit of freedom and radical exploration. On 1985's Pokkeherrie (Dutch for "terrible noise"), The Ex return to the more stripped-down instrumentation on their early LPs. A key lineup change would also see the arrival o…
Blueprints For A Blackout
Emerging out of Amsterdam's vibrant squat scene in 1979, The Ex – a name chosen for the ease and speed with which it could be spray-painted onto a wall – have for four decades been an entirely self-sustaining musical entity, charting a course through the global underground with a spirit of freedom and radical exploration. Blueprints For A Blackout, The Ex's fifth album and first double LP, combines caustic studio experimentations and loose songs from their gripping live-set at the time. The band…
In Greenwich Village
Originally released in 1967, Ayler's first LP on Impulse! and arguably his best for the label. "During 1967-69 avant-garde innovator Albert Ayler recorded a series of albums for Impulse that started on a high level and gradually declined in quality. This LP, Ayler's first Impulse set, was probably his best for that label. There are two selections apiece from a pair of live appearances with Ayler having a rare outing on alto on the emotional 'For John Coltrane' and the more violent 'Change Has Co…
The Tail of the Tiger
In 1977 an obscure Italian private label issued a record that sounded like it came from outer space. A long and dense trance-inducing drone of sustained notes, rich with overtones and harmonic embellishments, coming from a space so vast and unexplored that seemed almost of non-human, even electronic nature

Ike Yard
Ike Yard remain a legendary band of early '80s New York City – at once immensely influential, yet obscured by a far-too-brief initial phase. Their debut EP, the dark and absorbing Night After Night, sounds almost like a different group, so rapidly would Ike Yard evolve towards the calmly menacing electro throb of their self-titled LP.  Originally released on Factory in 1982, the album put Ike Yard's indelible mark on the synth-driven experimental rock scene then emerging all over the planet. Whi…

Love Songs in Grams per Second
All sounds in this record were collected in solitary afternoons or sleepless nights, while studying electric guitar and effect boxes, an FM synth and a sampler, and were taken care of as if they were plants that you would move around the house to see where they like it best. Occasionally they met other sounds from far back in time, and they got along well. All these sounds talk to me of fragility and effort; to me they taste like gratitude and affection and joy. - FIlippo Mazzei
