*2025 stock* Chet Baker's voice and trumpet defined cool jazz. How do his stories read in our own mother tongue?

Since 2010, Baker Hansen has endeavoured to answer this question in language and interaction, based on the music that Chet Baker played. The songs are timeless and well-known, but the lyrics have been thoroughly and skilfully rendered into dialect by singer Sigurd Rotvik Tunestveit from Ål in Hallingdal. When "The night we called it a day" becomes "Midnight sun" and Columbus and Edison swap places with Nansen and Fosse in "They all laughed", the lyrics can lead to eye-opening experiences with this music.

Baker Hansen's fourth album released on 13 September 2024, and here the band goes further than ever before in putting their own signature on the well-known original songs both lyrically and musically. In this way, they live up to the promise of the title Ein song som liknar oss (A song similar to us), taken from Sylfest Lomheim's rendition of the French Les Feuilles Mortes, perhaps better known under the variant Autumn Leaves.
