*2023 stock* "On February 20th 2010 I had the privilege to start my musical collaboration with Don Preston, performing live a concert of improvised music at the South Pasadena Conservatory of Music. A very versatile keyboardist who deserves much greater recognition, Don is one of the few synthesizer players to develop his own sound on the instrument. Preston may be best known as the keyboardist with Frank Zappa's Mothers of Invention, but is first and foremost a fine jazz pianist who has worked among the others, with Gil Evans, Charlie Haden, John Carter, Carla Bley, Herbie Mann and many others.

Surprisingly, Don is also an accomplished double bass player, adding another special color to his palette. Preston's music reflects intellect and technical skills and his improvising that night ranged across panoramas of moods and emotions, all colored with freedom and beauty. The result of that magic performance is here in this album: I hope that you enjoy listening to it at least as much as we enjoyed making it." - Andrea Centazzo
