"Idola Tribus was a fanzine/magazine founded in 1984 from an idea by Roberto Migliussi and Roberto Caracciolo. Conceived as a fanzine that collected the authors' creative ideas in music, poetry and drawing, it soon expanded to a collective that published the first issue in February 1985. In the following two years, five issues were published in A4 format with a print run of 400 copies. The magazine included various articles on music, social situations such as suicide, drugs, prisons, cultural, literary and spiritual themes, poetry and drawing, with extensive advertising of independent productions of all kinds. The collective also actively participated in the local area with the support of the creation of a Social Centre in Livorno, the evenings in support of the miners' struggle against Thatcher in England and the distribution of flyers at the editions of the Festival delle Etichetta Indipendenti in Florence, the critical interventions in the local press. Alongside these experiences, some members were active in the circuit of independent products distribution, cassettes and fanzines, and in the mail-art circuit. The experience ended with issue 5 in 1987. According to many, IT is considered one of the most influential magazines in the underground scene of the mid-80s."
