The film was the winner of the Leone d'Oro at the Venice Film Festival of 1963. Piero Piccioni has composed more than 300 scores for film, television, radio, ballet and orchestra, working with legendary directors as Luchino Visconti, Vittorio De Sica and Dino Risi.
