"Among the dozens of bands that crowded the scene in the first half of the '80s there are some that rose to cult status. Death in Venice are part of the latter and not remembering them would be an outrage to common sense and musical culture. Proponents of a handful of singles and demos that have gone down in history, they are still considered one of the most valid bands that our country has ever given birth to."" "In 1986 Paroxismos was released, again by Contempo. Among the musical innovations we certainly highlight an opening towards more markedly new wave and therefore warmer sounds, thus putting in the drawer the more difficult ones belonging to the old-fashioned punk pust. The taste and class, however, remained intact thanks also to a certain erotic taste inserted in the lyrics and sounds of the latest work. Songs like Orgasm guaranteed and Victims demonstrate how the artistic growth of the band was exponential thanks also to greater care in the arrangements and vocals which became more accessible."
