"The music of the Stupid Set was a strange – and at times spastic – combination of Residentian conceptuality, avant-pop naiveté, and “intellectual” disco-music. The only plausible comparison in Italy at the time were the most advanced peaks of the Great Complotto of Pordenone. They were also among the first multimedia groups of the Italian new wave: from the very beginning they trafficked with videos and abstruse extra-musical concepts, they had a special relationship with the Grabinsky (the videomaker couple formed by Renato De Maria and Emanuele Angiuli)."
