Excited and inspired by the evocative sounds of late 1980s synthesizer scores and the movies they sound-tracked, Rupert Lally returns with new album ‘Profiler’. A scorching 80s synthesizer heavy imaginary soundtrack to the movie playing in his head, ‘Profiler’ by Rupert Lally is a loose sequel to his album ‘Hacker’, a 2022 release also on Spun Out Of Control. But instead of hunting down computer criminals, this time his FBI protagonist, known in the trade as a Profiler, is on the trail of a serial killer, with a double homicide pointing to further misdemeanors.

Fans of the Red Dragon, Silence of the Lambs & Hannibal novels of Thomas Harris, adapted by Michael Mann for his late 80s Manhunter movie, and the recent Mindhunter Netflix series, will find much to love in this album’s premise and realisation.  Profiler will also hook fans of the synth scores of Harold Faltermeyer, one time keyboard protégé of Italo disco godfather Giorgio Moroder. Imagine too a 1980s/90s era Pacino possibly playing the part of the Profiler, and we have a heady mix to delight film thriller and electronic music fans alike. Profiler arrives in the shape of a limited edition, hand numbered cassette tape and download, with exclusively commissioned cover and inlay art by Eric Adrian Lee. Go for the ‘Intruder, Shattered Glass’ (silver glitter) tape shell or choose the double-sided, two-colour ‘Double Homicide’ variant. Like the protagonist running to ground the killer in this tale, make sure to secure this one early!
