Painting Petals On Planet Ghost is the project formed in 2004 by the brothers Maurizio and Roberto Opalio, better known as My Cat Is An Alien, along with Ramona Ponzini, after years of synergistic interaction. The idea behind the project is to combine the most lyrical and melodic MCIAA sounds with the peculiar research carried on by Ramona and focused on the use of ancient Japanese poetry as a privileged source of texts to be set to music. PPOPG is therefore a project that reflects an escape to the most delicate and poetic inner self, an intimate digging that leads to pure catharsis: the musicality that arise from the Japanese language in the form of poetry is its sublime means. "In Winter" is PPOPG’s fourth full-length CD, it includes two long tracks previously released with a different mix on vinyl as a limited edition by Blackest Rainbow in 2011; more than thirty unpublished minutes of music recorded during the same sessions - and also a ghost track – were added, for a total of over eighty ecstatic minutes. A mantric gait of ambient atmospheres that interweave introspectively, ghostly reflections on the edge of dream and ancestral memories where emotions re-emerge in an evanescent dimension. Meditations that take shape in a scene full of inevitable dismay that arises in a melancholic sequence of oniric turmoil.
