*250 copies limited edition* Alvear, Bondi & d'incise consists of Cristián Alvear from Chile, and Cyril Bondi and d'incise from Switzerland. The three musicians collaborate frequently in duo and trio formats. This album documents a duo performance by Alvear (guitar) and d’incise (vibraphone, electronics) of “Sleepless Night” (2022), a work by Spanish composer/sound artist Clara de Asís; and a trio performance by Alvear (guitar), Bondi (vibraphone) and d’incise (electronics) of “uno, dos o tres e…
Cyril Bondi wondered and researched about the process of choice in the making of a bells set for cows herd in the swiss mountains. It revealed to be pretty subjective, mixing parameters of sonic efficiency, financial and social reasons, and sometimes a slight touch of musicality, all of these clotted by the notion of "secret". Later he and d'incise spend a cold winter day into a thousand pieces collection of bells, picking a few sets regarding their own principles and finality.
"The word καῦμα (kaûma) gave us the "calm" losing its primary sens of "heat". Here an archaic experimental music, a more or less advanced electronic technology with questionable sustainability, false loops, oscillations and glidings, between immutable harmonic series and dubious Chinese components. If "kaûma" also gives "chômer" ("not to work") (from occitan "caumar", "to rest during the heat"), another warming would call to disturb the calm, the pattern, to come out of our torpor (κῶμα, kôma ("…
*2022 stock. 200 copies limited edition* "ABC 1-6 by Stefan Thut (2012) as performed by Cristian Alvear, Cyril Bondi, D'Incise. ABC 1-6 is a score written by Stefan Thut in 2012 that evolves around 3 categories for an ever changing structure.
As Stefan Thut describes it in his own words: "A faintly coloured noise (0) / an amalgam of noise and pitch (1) / a pitch (2). The first category refers to white noise which never occurs in its purity since the actual environment always colours a white noi…
* Limited Edition * Among the musicians whose work closely reflects the reduced forms in experimental music, perhaps the most interesting is Cristián Alvear, a Chilean guitarist performing formally radical post-Cagean music, as well as Laurent Peter aka D'incise, a composer, multi-instrumentalist and producer, one of the key figures of the eclectic scene in Geneva. The numerous projects in which they participate prove their strictly defined artistic vision and active involvement in networking th…
**200 copies** "Assemblée, Relâche, Réjouissance, Parade or another long, unspeakable, French, title (that would somehow translate as " Assembly, Pause, Rejoicing, Parade"). Words that conjure ideas of music used in public, and social rituals. The two distinct pieces experiment with the "bringing back" (re-injection?) of music into the experimental area. Do not see anything pretentious about it, it is rather a very personal path, in the sense, among others, to not forbid certain aspects of music…
***100 copies*** In the electroacoustic composition The Probability of an Encounter d'incise attempts to give physicality to electronic sounds, to capture their materiality as piece of cardboard moving - moving back and forth on itself, and moving relatively to microphones in a room. The loudspeaker as concrete manifestation is pushed to its functionning limits to reveal it as it breaths, vibrates, saturates, rattles in contact of other objects. The raw material made of electronic sounds created…
A 40-minute solo piece for ‘modified guitar’ written by the Swiss composer d’incise for the Chilean guitarist Cristián Alvear.Perhaps more than a strict composition this piece is a conjunction of a technical frame and a conceptual input, and the own vision of the player. It works on tuning and de-tuning, a different set-up of the strings, on harmonics and pitch frictions and on the influences of music from very various origins and the transposition of gestures inside a reduced field of possibili…
Improviser and composer Laurent Peter - one half of Diatribes, co-ordinator of the Insub Meta Orchestra and co-curator of the Insubordinations label - has been a important figure in the Swiss Experimental scene for some years now. This new solo composition, although assembled from studio recordings, conjures gurgling volcanic pools, teeming with myriad amphibians and insects.
'd'incise is a member of the Audioactivity, music & visual collective founded in 2000 in Geneva (CH). In 2002 he starded to produce different kinds of electronic music, from dub to electronica, dangerously sliding to the more experimental ways of electroacoustic. His world is made with sound fractures, nevralgic crepitations, melancolic atmospheres and a non-dissimulated fascination for rust and faded rhythms. 'Lethargie...' , his newest CD, is not far from described above. A mixture of f…
* 250 copies, hand numbered * Composed on a special request from ini.itu, “Rivages sur l'antipode” (shores on the opposite side of the earth) is his first vinyl LP and is based on similar archival material as the one used by Francisco López in his stunning “untitled #228”. Nonetheless, D'incise (aka Laurent Peter) has achieved radically different results, combining digitally-processed textures, microsamples and humming harmonics rippling out over broken rhythms. He has collaged the least obvious…
