* Deluxe Edition. Released in a gatefold cover. Black Vinyl Numbered Limited Edition of 899 copies 1 page insert 2 OBI strips * Another great italian avantgarde progressive rarity from 1972! Complex and excellent album, with classic moments, jazz-rock influences in the Canterbury vein, acoustic parts, sudden rhythm changes and complex arrangements, in a few words everything we love from vintage italian prog!
"Part of the charm of the Italian progressive rock is undoubtedly due to its inner presence of many bands who were able to release just a single LP, often overshadowed by the 'big' names: therefore, the album and its authors were, at best, forgotten for years, sometimes decades.

This is also the case of Gruppo D'Alternativa, from Milan, who debuted in 1972 on the Harvest label (and maybe it's not a coincidence that the same happened to Alan Sorrenti): "Ipotesi" stands between a rock opera and a concept album, based on the death of a band's friend in a car accident. The group used to 'represent' the musical and lyrical content of the LP in theatrical contexts, where they were able to extend the studio tracks length thanks to their ability to improvise.

"Ipotesi" is in fact an album with strong jazz-rock imprint which, in some circumstances, takes clear inspiration from the Miles Davis' fusion era among the '60s and the '70s. Ultimately, it's another hidden gem brought forth from the Italian Seventies fertile musical scene. The limited sales success and the request from the record label to give a commercial appeal to the following LP brought the short career of the group to an end.
